Duties of the Editorial Team
- General Editor
The general editor oversees the direction of the Security and Land Power Journal (including the processes of creation and execution thereof) and of proposing actions to improve the publication. In the first instance, he is the one who reads and verifies that the articles submitted by the authors comply with the editorial standards of the journal. To do this, he classifies and reviews the relevance of the content of the articles submitted about the CEEEP study areas, the research support, the structure of the abstracts and keywords, as well as the presentation and internal coherence of the article. For support and orientation purposes, the general editor will be supported by associate editors.
Functions:
- Ensure the scientific and editorial quality of the journal, establishing communication with all the participants involved in the publication.
- Preside and guide the Editorial Committee and the Scientific Committee, proposing ordinary and extraordinary meetings to both Committees.
- Inform the Editorial Committee about the results of the calls and the reception of articles.
- Receive and manage the articles sent to the journal.
- Propose article reviewers to the Editorial Committee, building a database of reviewers.
- Decide if the works received can be sent to the arbiters for evaluation or should be rejected.
- Maintain the necessary anonymity of the processes that require it.
- Ensure that all published articles have been duly peer-reviewed.
- Supervise the editorial process and support the coordination and production of digital material.
- Coordinate everything related to the website of the Security and Land Power Journal.
- Develop all the actions that proceed so that the journal appears in the most prominent databases and indexes.
- Editorial Committee
It is the body responsible for the academic, scientific, and disciplinary content that is published in the Security and Land Power Journal following its institutional and particular policies. The Editorial Committee will be made up of national and international professionals with recognized experience and knowledge in each of the CEEEP research areas, who must be active researchers and have recently published in journals or books.
The Editorial Committee of the Security and Land Power Journal will be evaluated and renewed every two years. For this, the members will have the possibility to ratify, be excluded, or resign. The connection of the members of the Committee is honorary and does not generate any type of labor or contractual relationship with the CEEEP.
Functions:
- Establish the editorial policy of the Security and Land Power Journal following the editorial policy of CEEEP.
- Define with the general editor the criteria of the journal.
- Maintain the scientific and technical quality of the journal by the requirements of the indexing and summary systems (SIR), ensuring compliance with all editorial processes to guarantee the rigor and scientific value of the published articles.
- Advise on the strategic planning of the journal.
- Propose appropriate reviewers for each section or area of study of the journal.
- Ensure that international standards of ethics applicable to scientific publications are maintained.
- Invite recognized members of the national and international academic community to publish their work in the journal.
- Actively participate in the orientation and search for articles and authors for each of the CEEEP's publication sections and study areas.
- Promote the dissemination of the Security and Land Power Journal in national and international academic media, as well as in events, conferences, and dissemination spaces.
- Scientific Committee
The Scientific Committee of the Security and Land Power Journal acts as an advisory body to the Editorial Committee and will be made up of representatives of the national and international academic and scientific community. The selection of the Committee will be made through candidates presented to the Editorial Board and the general editor of the journal.
The Scientific Committee of the Security and Land Power Journal will be evaluated and renewed every two years. For this, the members will have the possibility to ratify, be excluded, or resign. - Advise the Editorial Committee on aspects related to the quality of information and editorial content.
- Advise the Editorial Committee and the general editor in defining the parameters of scientific quality.
- Propose development strategies for the journal's editorial and quality policy.
- Invite recognized members of the national and international academic community to publish their work in the journal.
- Actively participate in the orientation and search for articles and authors for each of the CEEEP's publication sections and study areas.
- Promote the dissemination of the Security and Land Power Journal in national and international academic media, as well as in events, conferences, and dissemination spaces.
- Participate as arbiters of the works received for publication or suggest other experts as academic peers.
