The Value of Intelligence and the Development of Military Power in the Peruvian State to Confront New Threats

Abstract

The need to find an adequate articulation of intelligence as a fundamental instrument to develop military power generated a greater impact on the armies of several countries; In this regard, the regional analysis carried out allows for a more timely view of how the use of this capacity can be guided and prepared at the strategic, operational and tactical levels.

This article uses the methodology called Analytical Research compilation, developed in three parts: a conceptualization of intelligence and its value, the element of national power that allows facing the threat, as well as the conceptual articulation that can be provided to both.

  • Oscar Ray Flores Silva, Peruvian Army War College, Escuela Superior de Guerra del Ejército

    Oscar Ray Flores Silva is Lieutenant Colonel and Officer of the Peruvian Army of the Infantry Arm, Commander of BCT N°51 – Huanta. He holds a master’s degree in Military Art and Science from Command General and Staff College - US Army University and a master’s degree in Military Science from the Army War College-Graduate School. He has a diploma in Public Management from the San Ignacio de Loyola University and a diploma in Leadership and Strategic Planning, ESGE-EPG. He worked as a teacher at ESGE-EPG; is a member of the 108th promotion “José de los Ríos” of the Military School of Chorrillos.
